Dr. Ana Marta Pereira is a General Surgeon at the Department of Surgery at Unidade Local de Saúde de Entre o Douro e Vouga, in Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal. She specializes in upper gastrointestinal surgery, in special bariatric surgery, and serves as the coordinator of the Complex Abdominal Wall Unit at this institution.

Dr. Ana Marta Pereira is currently a board member of the Portuguese Abdominal Wall Society (SPHPA) and the Abdominal Wall Chapter of the Portuguese Society of Surgery, where she actively participates in educational activities. She is also the Secretary of the Portuguese General Surgery College. Additionally, she is a member of the Development & Communication Committee of the European Chapter of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO-EC).

Her main interests lie in bariatric surgery, both as a practicing surgeon and investigator in this field, as well as in complex abdominal wall reconstruction, where she finds an interconnection between these two areas.
