Graduating with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil, Ecuador
in 1997, Dr. Villao swiftly established herself as a dedicated medical professional. Her commitment to excellence
led to recognition by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999.
With a thirst for knowledge and a dedication to her craft, Dr. Villao earned her specialization in General Surgery
from the University of Chile in 2004. This accomplishment was reinforced by the certification in General Surgery
from CONACEM in the same year. Dr. Villao has amassed over 5 years of expertise in the field of General Surgery,
as attested by the Director of the Servicio de Salud Metropolitano Oriente in 2009.
Dr. Villao's pursuit of excellence is evidenced by her relentless pursuit of further training and expertise. Her
achievements include a specialized Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic
in Weston, Florida, during December 2008. Moreover, she completed another Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic
Surgery at CEICIL, located at the Hospital del Salvador of the University of Chile, from December 2007 to
November 2008.
Her dedication to continuous learning is also exemplified by her participation in the Postgraduate General Surgery
program at the Universidad De Chile's Faculty of Medicine from 2000 to 2003, a program recognized by CONACEM in
2004.
Dr. Villao's journey began at the Universidad Católica "Santiago de Guayaquil," where she completed her Doctorate
