Dr. Mumba Chalwe Dr Mumba Chalwe is a Urological Surgeon based in Southern Africa. As a pioneer in the field,
She is an avid advocate for continuous development of Surgical practice on the African continent
through Surgical education, mentorship and research. Dr Chalwe is a well accomplished speaker
on the local and international stage has delivered keynote addresses, and served on panels at
various forums including TEDx, The World Congress of Surgeons ,The Women Leaders in
Global Health conference among others.
Dr Chalwe boasts of several awards and recognition from various organizations worldwide. She
is a fellow of the College of Surgeons of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa, and was awarded
the Gold medalist status by the same college. Additionally, she is an Associate Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons, is a mentor with the University of Global Health Equity and is
currently the Vice President for the Women In Surgery Africa (WiSA).
