Dr. Paulina Viana Lopes Dr. Paulina Viana Lopes is a general surgeon at Hospital da Luz, where she has worked since 2007. She specializes in breast pathology and has built a solid career in this field.
Dr. Lopes graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Coimbra in 1998. She completed her specialization in General Surgery in 2007 and became a Consultant in General Surgery in 2016. In 2005, she trained in Breast Oncologic Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Her professional journey began with a General Surgery residency at Hospital do Desterro/Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Central from 2001 to 2006. After that, she worked as a General Surgery Hospital Assistant at Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Central, part of the Breast Pathology Unit, from 2007 to 2016. Since 2007, she has been a General Surgeon at Hospital da Luz Oeiras and Clínica da Amadora, focusing on breast pathology.
In 2014, Dr. Lopes joined the Hospital da Luz Breast Center. She also taught as an Invited Assistant for the Surgery I course in the Integrated Master of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, from 2010 to 2016.
