Dr. Xavier Guirao His surgical activity has been developed in the field of General and the Endocrine Surgery performing thyroid, parathyroid and open and laparoscopic suprarrenal surgery, being recently awarded with the European Board in Endocrine Surgery. Hi has been also active in the field of surgical infections.
He has been leading the Department of Surgical Research, mentoring residents, and teaching students as a Professor of Medicine at the International University of Catalonia since 2010.
Member of Surgical Infection Society-Europe (SIS-E) and the International Surgical Infections Society Group (ISIS). Also, he has served as a President of the Spanish Surgical Infections Society and actually he is a reviewer for peer review journals, such British Journal of Surgery, Critical Care Medicine and Cirugía Española.
